Different lengths of the woven carpet

If the pile of the woven carpet is shorter than 15 mm, it is called a short-pile carpet. If the pile length is between 15 and 50 mm, it is a shaggy carpet. If the pile is longer than 50 mm, then it is a long pile carpet. A flat-woven carpet, on the other hand, has no pile at all.
Differences between hand-woven and machine-made carpets
The most valuable and noble carpets are very elaborately woven by hand. The best examples of this are the oriental carpets, especially the Persian carpet. With these woven carpets, the quality of the material and color is retained for a very long time. The best oriental rugs are even considered true works of art. However, they are also correspondingly expensive.
In contrast to this are the hand-tufted carpets made from natural fibers, synthetic fibers or fabric blends. The fibers are attached to the carrier fabric in bunches using a gas gun. This makes them easier to care for and cheaper.
But the cheapest variant are the machine-woven carpets, which have very complicated patterns thanks to the technology but can be cheap and high quality at the same time.
