There are now also numerous models made of virgin wool and cotton, which are particularly impressive because of their easy care.

Hand-woven carpets were actually originally named after the respective area of ​​production. If the models came from the Middle East, they are known as kilim. Flat-weave carpets from India are called Dhurrie. In Germany, the term hand-woven usually refers to a very special type of pattern, whereby there is a spectrum between modern design and classic patches.

By nature, due to the high-quality material such as cotton or virgin wool, hand-woven carpets are particularly durable and easy to care for. In addition to the associated long service life, there is one feature of these modern carpets that impresses many people. Namely that both sides of the carpet are completely identical. This means that the specimen can easily be turned over at any time, which results in even wear. In addition, a certain self-cleaning effect must be taken into account, as the dirt is virtually knocked out after the carpet is turned over and used again. Cleaning is limited to regular tapping and vacuuming, which can usually be done with the usual daily housework and does not require any particular additional effort.

Hand-woven means a variety of patterns and colors

Hand-woven carpets are not only very attractive and loyal companions when it comes to floor design in the home, but they are a true all-rounder when it comes to design and color. Depending on the furnishing style, there are of course models that are more discreet and simply cheap to buy, but there are also enough models that score points with a playful and patterned design. A geometric design is just as effective with a pile height of 11 mm as with just 5 mm. Colorful hand-woven carpets for the bedroom or the cozy living area are also available in 35 mm, where the coziness factor is very important here. As pleasant as these handwoven rugs feel, they are easy to care for. It's not just the double-sided use that plays an important role, but also the fact that the material virgin wool has a natural dirt-repellent effect due to the fats contained in the fibers, which are also known as the lanolin layer.
