Berber carpets are real classics
Berber carpets made of virgin wool are simple classics that have been around since Years and decades have been hand-woven, especially in Morocco, Tunisia and Libya. The quality can be clearly determined, although the definition is easy to make based on the appearance alone. If you want to buy a Berber carpet cheaply, you will find a large selection that will enhance any living area.
Simple patterning is typical for Berber carpets
Real Berber carpets are handcrafted by the famous Tuaregs, among others. They are usually kept in plain white, but sometimes there is a small, decorative element in a second color. Even though you can now buy models in brown, orange or earthy colors, it should be noted that the classic Berber is actually simply white. How good the quality of a real Berber is can actually be calculated. Thanks to the knotting setting on the loom, it is determined how many knots occur per square centimeter both vertically and horizontally. The most common settings for Berber carpets are either 15/15 or 18/18 or 20/20. In addition, it depends on the type of knot, which as a simple example creates two pile threads, while a double knot creates four knots. If you choose a carpet with a triple knot, you are relying on a total of six threads that are incorporated into the pile. This means that the combination 18/18 triple, which has 1944 pile threads per square centimeter, has the densest and best weave shape.
The wool in the Berber carpet also plays a role
Not quite as important as the quality as the two criteria mentioned, but the use of wool is also crucial. This is the amount of wool used per square meter. This affects both the density and quality of the fabric. How heavy the carpet ultimately is, which is logically identical to the wool weight for a piece made from 100% virgin wool, can be found in the product details. The quality of the wool used for a carpet with a 14 mm or 17 mm or even 26 mm pile is also crucial. High-quality carpets are knotted from Atlas highland wool. This not only provides a pleasant feel, but also high durability. If you buy a Berber cheaply, you choose a specimen for the floor that radiates a real feel-good atmosphere. The soft look creates a warm atmosphere and is therefore particularly suitable for the living and sleeping areas. The rugs are available in both rectangular and round shapes, making them ideal as a base for the couch area or around the bed. Thanks to the simple color, they fit perfectly into any interior style and really enhance furniture.
Variety of uses make the Berber a classic
Choosing a Berber for your home also means spicing up rustic living concepts, whereby thanks to the high pile of up to 26 mm, they particularly support heavy pieces of furniture in their effect. In addition, warm feet and an excellent walking feeling are guaranteed, as the comprehensive wool quality is particularly suitable for this. A Berber carpet with a simple look creates a real feel-good atmosphere in the rooms where everyone likes to spend time.
