A contact time of up to two hours is usually recommended for products of this type. This phase always depends on the nature of the stains. Dust, dirt, etc. do not need to be processed separately with such a powder. To remove these, all you need to do is use the vacuum cleaner regularly. Carpet foam is relatively moist in nature. This means that the active ingredient is absorbed deeper into the carpet fibers and therefore dissolves the stains and animal residues such as saliva, sweat or food stains even faster and more effectively. Upholstery cleaner has a similar effect. However, the product particles are considerably smaller in order to be able to develop their full effect in the particularly small pores of upholstered furniture etc. Most carpet cleaning products are sufficient for an area of 100m². Depending on the size of the room, they can therefore be used several times.
Correct handling is crucial
With many carpet cleaning products, it is not enough to simply distribute the product on the surface of the carpet. Rather, the whole thing has to be worked in with a vacuum cleaner so that the cleaning agents can reach deep into the fibers. The exposure time specified by the manufacturer must then be adhered to. Leaving it on overnight also makes sense, as this allows you to get the full power out of the carpet cleaning agent. Then you take the vacuum cleaner again and suck the carpet cleaning agent out of the carpet along with the dirt. The result is impressive and most carpets literally shine in new splendor after such a treatment.
